Meknes: 24-Year-old Arrested for Allegedly Possessing, Trafficking in Drugs, Psychotropics

Meknes – Anti-gang policemen in Meknes arrested a 24-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances, according to multiple security sources.

The suspect was apprehended, on the basis of data provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), at a roadside checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Meknes, immediately after arriving on a passenger bus from one of the Kingdom’s northern cities.

The investigation led the police to seize 2,032 psychotropic tablets in his possession. These include 928 ‘Zepam’, 602 ‘Nordaz’ and 502 ecstasy tablets, the same source further specified.

The suspect was taken into police custody for an investigation by the competent prosecutor’s office to determine the possible consequences of this criminal activity and any criminal acts attributed to the person concerned.
