Knesset Speaker Hails HM the King’s ‘Courageous’ Leadership in Favor of Peace

Rabat – Israeli Parliament (Knesset) Speaker Amir Ohana hailed, on Thursday in Rabat, HM King Mohammed VI’s “courageous” leadership in favor of peace.

“Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to salute the courageous leadership of HM King Mohammed VI in strengthening relations between nations, establishing peace and promoting Moroccan values,” Ohana told the press, following a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.

He also noted that his meeting with Bourita covered a number of issues designed to pave the way for strengthening and consolidating relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and Israel.

Referring to his visit to the Kingdom’s Parliament, Ohana, who is of Moroccan origin, said that this was the first time that a Knesset Speaker had been invited to the parliament of a Muslim country.

He added that this “historic” visit was no coincidence, but reflected the Moroccan values he had inherited from his origins, his upbringing and the environment in which he grew up.
