Burkina Faso Hails Morocco’s Constant Efforts, under Wise and Enlightened Leadership of HM the King, to Promote Peace and Development in Africa

Dakhla – Burkina Faso on Friday welcomed Morocco’s constant efforts, under the wise and enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, to promote peace and development in Africa.

“The Burkinabe side welcomed the constant efforts made by Morocco, under the wise and enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him, to promote peace and development in Africa,” reads the joint communiqué issued at the end of the fourth session of the Joint Cooperation Commission, held in Dakhla under the co-presidency of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Burkinabe counterpart, Olivia Ragnaghnewendé Rouamba.

The two ministers stressed the shared desire of the Kingdom of Morocco and Burkina Faso to contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability on the African continent in general and in the Sahel region in particular.

They also noted with satisfaction the convergence of their views on the various issues raised and reaffirmed their determination to participate in efforts to resolve conflicts in Africa.

Both parties reaffirmed the commitment of their leaders to work together to achieve lasting peace and economic development on the African continent, particularly in the context of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

For his part, Bourita expressed Morocco’s full solidarity with Burkina Faso in its tireless efforts to combat the scourge of terrorism and violent extremism, stressing that Burkina Faso will always find in Morocco a partner constantly committed to promoting and supporting its initiatives for stability and development.

For her part, Rouamba thanked Morocco for its solidarity and support for Burkina Faso in the face of security and humanitarian challenges.

The two parties also praised the effective coordination of their actions and mutual support in continental and international fora and undertook to step up consultations with a view to bringing their positions closer together.

They expressed their mutual satisfaction with the unconditional support they have always given to each other in various continental and international forums.

To this end, the two parties agreed to continue to support, in a concerted and reciprocal manner, the candidacies of Morocco and Burkina Faso for these bodies.
