Moroccan Delegation Takes Part in 5th Arab Parliament Session

Cairo – The Arab Parliament held its 5th session on Saturday at the headquarters of the Arab League, with the participation of a Moroccan parliamentary delegation.

Morocco was represented at the meeting by Mohamed Bakouri, Chairman of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) group in the House of Councillors, who is also a member of the parliamentary section of the Arab Parliament and Chairman of the Arab Food Security Commission.

The Moroccan delegation also included Khadija Hajoubi of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), Vice-Chairperson of Social, Educational, Cultural, Women’s and Youth Affairs at the Arab Parliament, and Mohamed Ayach (RNI), member of the Legislative, Legal Affairs and Human Rights Commission.

During the session, Arab Parliament President Adel Al Asoomi noted that the international community should assume its responsibilities for Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, provide international protection for Palestinians and work to guarantee their rights, including the establishment of a Palestinian state on all Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, with Al-Quds as its capital.

He also called on Arab countries to play a greater role in resolving the Sudan crisis, praising efforts to maintain the truce in Yemen.

This truce paves the way for a permanent ceasefire and would enable a definitive resolution to be reached, stressed Adel Al Asoomi, welcoming the UN’s announcement of the launch of the Safer oil tanker unloading operation.
