Washington - The recognition by Israel of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara is part of the international support for Morocco's stance, said the former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, David Schenker.

Dakar - The African press agency (APA News) reported on Tuesday that Israel has recognized Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara, stressing that "this recognition is part of the dynamic initiated by HM King Mohammed VI in recent years."

Cairo - Morocco's position on the Palestinian question, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, is constant and firm, said Omar Milad, President of Al-Azhar University in Gaza.

London - Member of the British House of Lords, Stuart Polak, welcomed, on Tuesday, the Israeli government's decision to recognize Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara, deeming it "the right thing to do".

Tokyo - The decision by the State of Israel to recognize Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara illustrates once again "the great far-sightedness of His Majesty King Mohammed VI", said Tuesday former Japanese ambassador, Takashi Shinozuka.

Rabat - Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah, the Secretary General of the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS), emphasized Tuesday that Israel's recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara represents a significant accomplishment resulting from the firm and proactive diplomacy led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Washington - Israel’s announcement recognizing Morocco's sovereignty in the Sahara region is a step towards resolving this regional dispute based on the Autonomy plan, underlined Robert Satloff, Executive Director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
